Reimagining the Marianas invites Marianas History Conference participants to partake in an evening that celebrates self-reflection, storytelling, exploration and creating
meaningful social change through performance and conversation.

Join Humanities Guåhan and Northern Marianas Humanities Council for good food, powerful performances by indigenous cultural experts and artists, and meaningful discussion centered on cultural identity, resilience, and healing.  Our goal is to create an inclusive and welcoming space where participants can critically think about and discuss the values and choices that shape us as a community to reimagine a Marianas that is more just, inclusive, and sustainable. Themes include diverse expressions of culture across the Marianas, multigenerational wounds experienced by different communities that call the Marianas home, and cultural beliefs and practices that foster healing from the traumatic effects of colonialism.

Facilitators: Leo Pangelinan, Catherine Perry, Bryan Manabat, Beth Demapan, Elfrie Koshiba, Kimberlee Kihleng, Nedine Songeni, Charissa Manibusan, Jacqueline Thinom-Pong, Hideichi Mori and Dylan Clymer.
